Atelier Team Support St Albans Fashion Week

The venue was the oldest place of continual Christian worship in the UK. On Friday 1 November this Cathedral, with the longest nave in the UK – and possibly in Europe – played host to a Catwalk show like no other.

The Hertfordshire City of St Albans celebrated its first Fashion Week with a Catwalk show on 1 November attended by over 700 people.  The whole event was founded and organised by stylist and fashion blogger Ellena Ophira. Ellena is the editor of the fashion blog Style in My City, and also hosts her own radio show in St Albans, she says, “From the moment I started Style in my City, I wanted to organise a city wide fashion show, but from there the idea just grew and grew,”

“We have an award-winning collection of retailers and designers in St Albans and fashion is a very important part of the culture and life in this City.  It’s wonderful to have the opportunity to showcase the fantastic work that goes on here in our awe-inspiring Cathedral.”

The team from Atelier Hairdressing and Beauty Rooms created the hair styling for many of the models on the night alongside others to confirming St Albans fashion and beauty.

A huge range of high-end boutiques and designers from St Albans came down this unique runway.  There were also original collections from two University of Hertfordshire designers, Roxanna Behrouzi and Abiola Sule, and a collection of show-stopping hats from Andrew Fisher, one of the leading society and aristocracy milliners.

Profits from the Catwalk show will be divided between the local charities: The Mayor’s Charity; Rennie Grove Hospice Care; The Dream Foundation and The Cathedral Abbey Church of St Alban.
